It's Boomer Lit Friday!

Never Say Perfect Excerpt: (Page 1)

Where on earth could he be? He was here beside me five minutes ago. He said he’d be right back. He can’t be lost--he ordinarily has a decent sense of direction. If he’s playing a silly joke on me, it isn’t very funny.

Laina was certain that Dan, at any moment, would casually stroll into the bustling airport passenger lounge area where she nervously bit her lower lip as she waited.
_______________

The first vacation they had dared to allow themselves in over four years was a magical awakening of the qualities that had initially brought them together over twenty-seven years ago. Dan and Laina Strickland dealt with the daily grind of chores and dedication to maintaining a successful bed and breakfast business at the Paradise View in Victorian Cape May, New Jersey, and they were beyond ready for a greatly deserved two week break in the action.

Although I've written two novels about boomer love, I had never heard of the genre designated as Boomer Lit before today.  And that's exactly what I write--Boomer Lit. Two novels, one travel memoir about 4 boomer friends touring Italy, and a book to help boomers write their life stories--I was writing in a genre that I didn't even know existed. I'm so glad someone has actually defined it.

I LOVE IT!!!

  2. Thanks, Shelley! There are a number of twists and turns built into this story. Many people said, "You should warn readers not to start this book late at night. They won't be able to put it down!" Music to my ears...

  3. Great premise, Mary Anne, well chosen excerpt, one wants to read more! And yes, I'm so happy you have found the Boomer lit genre is the one for you! Because...I guess you could say I'm the first one to have identified it - started out September last year with setting up a thread in the Kindle Forums for boomer authors to list their titles and next, in October, launching the Goodreads Group...It makes me very happy when I hear the genre resonates with so many people, both readers and writers!
